John G. Miller, Jr. - Founder, Director, President
As founder of the Company, John has headed Digital Gamers, Inc. since its incorporation, and developed the business concept and technologies to support the company's products in the year prior to incorporation. John began his career as an officer in the US Air Force, where one of his key accomplishments was to help build the Air Force's Space Forecast Center. After leaving the Air Force, John taught physics for a year the the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs while working on a MS in physics, and then worked briefly for MCI before joining Sybase, Inc. At Sybase, John developed a reputation as a troubleshooter of last resort for the company's midwest database customers. He also developed the company's Java technology consulting line of business, and invented Relational Beans, the company's object-relational mapping technology for Java. John left Sybase to join Eteka.com (now IQ Navigator) as the company's chief technologist, where he co-developed the technology behind that company's patent-pending resource allocation software (US patent applications 60/180421 and 09/855767).
John brings his technological expertise and product vision to Digital Gamers, along with his customer service, management, and mentoring experience gained from his time in Sybase Professional Services.
Dr. Margaret M. Miller, PhD - Executive Vice President, VP of Educational Services, Treasurer
Margaret received her PhD in Higher Education from the University of Denver in 1995. She brings considerable experience in teaching and educational research to Digital Gamers. She participated in the evaluation of the Coors Foundation's Educational Options for Children program, and was the leader of the team evaluating the Denver Leadership Foundation's Whiz Kids Tutoring program. She has helped train and evaluate teachers for certification at the University of Denver; and for a time worked for Dr. Calvin Frazier, former Commissioner of Education for the State of Colorado, in the University of Denver Principal Certification Program. She has published a number of papers at national conferences of the American Educational Research Association. Margaret currently functions as the company's executive vice president and treasurer, and will be responsible for the company's educational on-line products.
Daniel Kevin Horgan - Director
Daniel Horgan began his career as a naval aviator after graduating from the US Navy Academy in 1983. His assignments included a tour as a patrol plane Mission Commander in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic against the Soviet submarine threat, and a tour as the Assistant Air Operations Officer on the USS Theodore Roosevelt supporting operation "Deny Flight and Provide Promise." After leaving the US Navy, Daniel joined Airborne Express. Establishing an impressive reputation as a troubleshooter, he was promoted through station manager and district manager positions to become a regional manager. As one of only fourteen regional managers at Airborne Express, Daniel has led his region to its position as second in that Fortune 500 company for service, productivity, and cost reduction. As a member of the Board of Directors, Daniel brings his business and administrative savvy to Digital Gamers, Inc.
F. Alan Wostenberg - Director
Alan Wostenberg is a 24 year veteran of the computer industry. He founded
McAllister Publishing and developed its Formulator product, selling the
company after establishing a customer base of 800 real estate companies.
At Apogee Robotics he led design and implementation of an AI system to control
a fleet of mobile robots in a factory material handling system. At Baan
(subsequently acquired by Invensys) he helped develop Invensys' Smalltalk
CRM Classys application. Subsequently, as a member of sustaining engineering,
he developed software and processes providing Baan's customer support, and
traveled the globe instructing Baan's support force worldwide. Recently he
founded The Joyful Beggars, a company established to provide psalm-of-the-day
service to wireless customers worldwide through its
Psalm Weaver product.
He is also the Chief Technologist for
Light of Heaven Rosary's
online presence. As a director of Digital Gamers, Inc. Alan brings to the
company his prior experiences as an entrepreneur, his background in
developing artificial intelligence systems, and especially his expertise in
building and managing world-class customer support systems and organizations.
