Play Poker Dice Against the Computer

Rules of Poker Dice

Each player uses five dice. A game consists of a series of rounds in which each player tried to throw the highest poker hand. Players have three throws per round, and may freeze any dice they choose.

The poker hands, ordered from highest ranking to lowest ranking, are

  1. Five of a Kind
  2. Four of a Kind
  3. Big Straight
  4. Full House
  5. Three of a Kind
  6. Two Pair
  7. One Pair
  8. Little Straight
  9. Bust

The winner for a round is the player with the highest ranking hand; between two hands with equal ranks the winner is determined by the highest remaining dice. When playing against the computer the player hand is developed without knowledge of the computer's current hand.

Scoring

Poker Dice is a banking game. Each player begins with 1000 points (for at-home play, use whatever starting value players agree upon; chips may be used to represent each player's stake). Each round, every player makes the required ante. At the end of a round the ante is added to the winning player's bank.

Rules of Progressive Poker Dice

Each player uses five dice. A game consists of a series of rounds in which each player tried to throw the highest poker hand. Players have three throws per round, and may freeze any dice they choose. The losing player in a round makes a payment to the winning player based on a progressive payout schedule.

The winner for a round is the player with the highest ranking Poker hand. If both hands are of the same rank the round is a tie (a Push); the face values of the dice are not used to distinguish between hands of equal rank. When playing against the computer the player hand is developed with knowledge of the computer's current hand.
